The Tories on the Way Out

It looks like pundits have come to their senses and are now of the opinion that the Tories may lose power over gay marriage. In fact, I’m sure they will.

If you analyse the situation with a clear mind and cast away emotions, you will come to the same conclusion.

Christians, who believe in the sanctity of marriage between man and woman for the propagation of human life, will certainly be disenchanted with the Tories and are likely to vote against them in the next general election. Non-Christians who value the traditional family structure as they have known it all their life will also find the notion of same-sex marriage unacceptable. Gay people themselves are divided on this issue, and some will no doubt oppose it.

David Cameron and his chancellor, the public school duo, are in my view committing hara-kiri. With the economy not showing any signs of material improvement, they have enough on their plate to make them suffer from chronic insomnia. They are skating over thin ice and they must know it, unless their intelligence has gone dormant. I sometimes wonder who is playing pantaloon to whom? The chancellor is arrogant and his chum the prime minister is deluded.

A new poll suggests that divisions over same-sex marriage will force the Tories out of office. One in five voters who supported the party in 2010 would definitely not do so again if the Coalition presses ahead with the change, it was found. Tory MPs describe the findings as ‘a wake-up call’ to David Cameron. But Tory supporters of the change dismiss the poll as ‘skewed’.

They would, wouldn’t they, given that they must be blind to the reality of the situation. A change against our natural instincts can never be construed as progress. This is liberalism gone crackers.

In the 2010 election which ended in a hung parliament, the Conservatives won 10.7 million votes against Labour’s 8.6 million and 6.8 million for the Liberal Democrats. The present swing in favour of Labour will ensure the defeat of the Tories in the next general election. Add to it the issue of gay marriage and the Conservatives will be blown to smithereens.

To have a Labour government again will be the coup de grâce of our hopes for the future. What a tragedy!

One Response to The Tories on the Way Out

  1. In the face of such clear manifestations of dementia in our political classes, perhaps we should just elect ourselves a dictator who knows what he (or she, even) is doing.

There is no reason why it cannot be done by AV after a vote on a Political X Factor Talent Show.

I cannot imagine anything else I would rather do on Saturday evenings than to watch or participate in such a national competition.
