Instead of celebrating the Olympics those of us who live in central London, particularly in Mayfair – where the big Olympic knobs are staying in their luxury hotels – are going to experience an intolerable disruption to our lives, making it hell to reach our offices and, even worse, dreading the return journey to our homes.
The organisers have totally ignored the terrible discomfort we are to suffer and acted without any consultation with the public – as if we are in a dictatorship, bereft of any regard for its citizens.
Roads are being shut and chaos will certainly follow.
What a price to pay for glory; even then, we are not sure of the outcome.
